J-Bay is one of the five most famous places to surf in the world. Jeffreys Bay is located in South Africa in the province of Eastern Cape. This bay is named after the first person to settle in that area. He moved there and opened a store in 1890. It was originally a small fishing town, but it recently has been experiencing rapid growth.

Surf season at Jeffreys Bay usually spans from May to mid-September, but surfable waves can appear year-round. Jeffreys bay is separated into different parts. These include Magna tubes, Boneyards, Supertubes, Impossibles, the Kitchen Window, Albatross, and the Point. Certain sections do not receive normal swells. Their swells come from storm winds. During the month of July the Billabong Pro ASP World Tour is there at Supertubes. Fans and spectators from around the world attend the event.
