This sick surfer is regarded as the father of modern surfing. He grew up in Waikiki, Hawaii. He was recruited to become a "Beach Boy" and instructed tourists how to surf. He later became a member of the Olympic swimming team where he won numerous medals. After he left the Olympic team he decided to travel the world and host surfing exhibitions. These exhibitions consisted of surfing instructions, demos on board carving, and even surf tricks. Everywhere he went, people started to take an interest in surfing. He traveled to New York, California, and Australia. While he was in California he became a character extra and played minor roles in movies. He even starred in a film with John Wayne.
